Kalypso is a registered Hanoverian (with mostly TB blood lines) that was bred for eventing & show jumping. His sire was an elite Hanoverian stallion and his dam's sire was a grand prix show jumper. While he's perfect for eventing, A-level jumpers or dressage; he could easily be competitive in hunters.
Over the last 2 years, Kalypso has successfully competed in Eventing through Training Level (now schooling Prelim) & in Show Jumping to 3’ 6” with his junior rider. In June, they won the Training 3-Day event at Inavale, Oregon against 28 competitors with a 33.3 score.
Kalypso has great jumping power & form with potential to move up the levels. He’s done Pony Club up to the B level & been in numerous rallies & ratings. He has solid 1st level dressage skills & is schooling 2nd level (leg yields, counter canter, lengthening trot). Dressage judges love his beautiful gaits.
Kalypso is most suited for a confident, ambitious teen or adult rider who wants a horse with unlimited competitive potential, but who doesn’t have an unlimited budget. Kalypso would be a good choice for a Novice rider looking to move up to Training or for a more experienced rider who wants a proven winner with upper level ability. Our priority is the right type of situation and a good, caring home.
His rider has gone off to college & he must be sold now. Price has been reduced from $25,000 to get him sold this year. Boarded at Stanford University Equestrian Center in Palo Alto, CA, which is only a 30 mins. drive from San Francisco airport. Kalypso is in full professional training with Meg Finn of Tally Ho Farms .
